 We usually open with a short work — something out of the ordinary — followed by a reading by our poet/speaker of the morning.

Enjoy a palate-cleansing two-minute celebration of silence. We close with a substantial work of chamber music.

THE WINE TRAIL – June 9th

We are happy to announce that The Wine Trail will return for the 2012 Tour Season! This is our first ever tour devoted entirely to wine. This tasting tour  includes round-trip  transportation on a    completely-custom,  uniquely-Albuquerque, open-air  trolley, wine     trivia (with great  prizes) and wine  samples at each location! It is   going to be one tasty ride that showcases some of the best wine in  the  desert! Hop on board as we sample wine at Scalo Northern Italian Grill, sparkling wine at Gruet Winery and the varieties at Casa Rondena Winery. The wineries and tasting rooms may rotate throughout the Season.The tour starts at Slate Street Cafe in their contemporary wine loft. with a tasting and an overview of wine and wine tasting (let’s call it Wine 101). We will then board the Trolley and venture to Casa Rondena Winery  in the village of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque and then to  Gruet Winery.

Enjoy an exhibit of photographs, including both rarely seen images taken in 1945 at the Trinity Site near Socorro and images taken in 2012 of the same locations. The exhibit is called “Green Glass Morning: Dawn of the Atomic Age”; it opens on June 2, 2012. The older photos depict the secret activities of the remote desert site and were given to the Museum by personnel at the White Sands National Monument (which now encompasses the Trinity Site), after being stored in obscurity for decades.
